4 cups (1 quart) tart red cherries (frozen or fresh)
¾-1 cup granulated sugar
3 T. Minute Tapioca
¼ tsp. almond extract
Dot with butter

Crust (if not using pre-frozen double pie crusts):
2¼ cup flour
⅔ cup shortening
½ cup water
½ tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix sugar and tapioca into a bowl, pour over cherries.*
2. Pour cherry/sugar/tapioca mixture into rolled out pie crust in 9 inch pie.
3. Dot with ¼ tsp almond extract.
4. Dot with Butter.
5. Add top crust and bake at 375ºF. for 45-55 mins.

*If using frozen cherries allow enough time to thaw. Frozen cherries will result in juicier filling.
