4-5 apples (I prefer Granny Smith)
⅔ cup sugar
1 T. flour
½ tsp. cinnamon
Dot with butter

Crust (if not using pre-frozen double pie crusts):
2¼ cup flour
⅔ cup shortening
½ cup water
½ tsp. salt

1. Peel/cut apples.
2. Combine sugar, cinnamon and salt, pour mixture over apples.
3. Pour mixture into rolled out pie crust in 9 inch pie plate.
4. Dot top with butter and add top crust.
5. Bake at 400ºF. for 45-50 mins.

I prefer to use all Granny Smith apples. Make sure that whatever apples you choose are somewhat tart and crisp.
