Ingredients:
Ingredients:
6-2/3 cups flour
1 lb. lard
1 tsp. salt
5 large egg yolks, beaten
1/2 pint sour cream
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1 T. sugar
Warm water (110ºF)
Solo brand pastry fillings

Directions:
Directions:
In small bowl, combine sugar and dry yeast. Add enough warm water to make a wet paste and moisten yeast. Set aside for 20 minutes. Work the flour, lard and salt together like pie dough. Add beaten egg yolks, sour cream and yeast paste. Blend together. Place in a greased bowl and place in refrigerator overnight, covered with towel. Knead down. Cut into sections. Roll out each section on powdered sugar, about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into squares; fill each with 1 teaspoon Solo brand fruit or nut filling. Fold each in thirds diagonally or roll and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 350ºF for 15 to 20 minutes or until light brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving. Can also drizzle with powdered sugar glaze instead of powdered sugar.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
One of our favorite cookies, usually made at Christmas. We love them with coffee for breakfast, too. They do not hold up well. Best eaten in a couple of days.
