1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs, beaten
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups rolled oats
2 cups corn flakes
1/2 cup coconut
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together butter, sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda together. Blend into creamed mixture. Add vanilla. Stir in rolled oats, cornflakes, coconut and nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto cookie sheet. Bake at 375ºF for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown. Makes 6 dozen

In grammar school, our cafeteria served giant 6" cookies we called Mrs. Fischer's Flying Saucers. Each day they served a different flavor including chocolate, vanilla, peanut butter and this oatmeal version.
