SINGLE-CRUST BASIC PIE CRUST
⅓ CUP BUTTER, MELTED
3 EGGS
1 CUP PACKED LIGHT BROWN SUGAR
½ TSP. SALT
1 TSP. VANILLA EXTRACT
1 CUP LIGHT CORN SYRUP
1⅓ CUPS PECAN HALVES AND PIECES

PREPARE PIE CRUST AND PLACE IN PIE PLATE. FLUTE EDGES.
IN MEDIUM BOWL, COMBINE BUTTER, EGGS, BROWN SUGAR, SALT AND VANILLA. BEAT WITH WHISK OR ROTARY BEATER UNTIL SMOOTH. STIR IN CORN SYRUP UNTIL BLENDED, MAKING AS LITTLE FOAM AS POSSIBLE. FOLD IN PECANS. POUR INTO UNBAKED PIE SHELL. WITH TABLE KNIFE, DISPERSE PECANS EVENLY. BAKE 40 TO 50 MINUTES UNTIL FILLING IS SET AND INSERTED TABLE KNIFE COMES OUT CLEAN. SERVE WARM OR COOLED.
