This recipe makes 3 -4 bread loaf pan sized breads.

8 c flour
2 c sugar
1 24 oz. box raisins (i use 1/2 golden)
3 Tbl baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp sea salt
3/4 tsp ground cardamon
4 eggs
1 c melted butter
1 qt. buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare loaf pans: Grease, flour, then line bottom with greased wax paper.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F

Mix all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add raisins to the flour mixture.
Lightly beat eggs. Add buttermilk and melted butter to beaten eggs,
then stir into the flour mixture.
Pour into prepared pans and bake for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F
and bake for another 25 minutes. Check for doneness with toothpick.
May need up to another 10 minutes.
Remove from oven. Let sit in pans a couple of minutes.
Remove from pans. Remove bottom paper and cool on wire rack.

Using the wax paper ensures that the loaf will not stick in the bottom of the pan.
Mixing the raisins into the dry ingredients prevents them from clumping together.
