1/2 chicken (about 2 pounds)
1 to 2 teaspoons chicken base
1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon dry white wine
1 bay leaf
2 carrots, diced
2 ribs celery, diced
salt to taste
8 ounces medium egg noodles

Directions:

Place the chicken in a large pot and cover with 1 gallon water. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer and cook for 2 hours. (If desired, cool to room temperature and chill overnight; skim fat from top before continuing.) Remove the chicken pieces and set aside to cool. Add the chicken base, white pepper, garlic powder, lemon juice, white wine, bay leaf, carrots, and celery. When chicken is cool enough to handle, remove skin and bones and discard; dice the meat and return it to the pot. Add 6 cups water. Simmer 20 to 30 minutes until vegetable are cooked. Season with salt to taste. Add the noodles and cook an additional 15 minutes.
