Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 C. Butter
1½ C. Sugar
2 Eggs
3 T. Sour Cream (I always use heaping spoonfuls)
3 C. Flour
½ t. Baking Soda
½ t. Salt
1 t. Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine all wet ingredients - Mix well with electric mixer.
2. Combine and blend all dry ingredients.
3. Gradually add the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients mixing as you combine.
4. Refrigerate dough until well chilled.
5. You may roll dough out on floured board and cut out with using your cookie cutter(s).
6. OR, you may roll dough out into 1½ inch balls and place on cookie sheet. I like to flatten each ball slightly.
7. You may add decorative candies at this point if you desire.
8. Bake at 400º f. preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until the edges are a golden brown.
9. After cooled, you may add decorative icing, if desired.

These baked cookies will freeze well until you are ready to eat them.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Ok, these are the ones that Dad/Grandpa Bowald/Great Papa absolutely loved. This was ALWAYS the traditional Christmas cookie at our home while growing up! It is now a favorite of Larry and Terry Moritz. Make this a tradition at your house...for any holiday...or just to have on hand anytime! This is one of my favorites, too! Pour the milk!
