4 cups (24 Ozs) Semi-sweet chocolate morsels, divided
2 2/3 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, margarine or Crisco shortening, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla
3 eggs

1. Melt 2 cups morsels in small, heavy saucepan over lowest possible heat. When morsels begin
to melt, remove from heat; stir. Return to heat for a few seconds at a time, stirring unitil smooth.

2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in medium bowl.

3. Beat butter(shortening), brown sugar and granulated sugar and vanilla in large bowl. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in melted chocolate. Gradually beat in
flour mixture. Stir in remaining morsels. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking
sheet.


4. Bake in preheated 375º F oven for 8 to 9 minutes or until cookies are puffed. Cool for 2 minutes;
remove to wire racks to cool competely.
