5 # flour
2 packets dry yeast
6 c warm water
3 T sugar
3 T lard, butter or shortening (melted and cooled)
dash salt

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl put flour and sprinkle yeast, sugar and salt over the top. Add the melted lard (cooled). Add water and mix together. Turn out on a floured table or counter. Knead 6 minutes. Put into a lightly greased bowl and let rise in warm place until double in size. Punch down and knead again. Return to bowl and let rise again until doubled . Punch down and knead again. Make into two loaves and let rise again. Bake in preheated oven for approx. 1 hour. Bread will sound hollow when knocked on lightly.
