1½lbs. stew meat (1kg=2 lbs.)
1 c. celery chopped
1 c. carrots chopped
1 c. onions chopped
1 clove garlic minced
7 c. water ( better to use containers of beef broth you
can add water to equal 7 cups in total)
4 tsp. boullion (did use even when using broth)
1 c. tomato sauce
⅔ c. barley
⅛ tsp. marjoram
¾ tsp. thyme
½ tsp. pepper
Salt to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Brown meat in pan on high heat.Work in 2 batches if needed.
Reduce heat to medium; add celery, carrots, onions & garlic.

Cook & stir for 5 mins.

Add all remaining ingredients.

Cover and simmer for 1½ hours or until beef is tender.
