1/2 loaf + Brownberry Natural White Bread-dry out
3 eggs-beaten
1 1/2 c sugar
1 1/2 can evaporated milk
1 1/2 c milk
nutmeg
cinnamon
1/2 stick melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.
Grease pan.

Beat together eggs, sugar, evaporated milk, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg and butter.

Add bread to egg mixture.

Pour into prepared pan.

Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

Bake for 1- 1 1/4 hour until a knife inserted comes out clean.

LEMON SAUCE:
Freshly squeezed lemon juice
1-2 Tblsp butter
1 heaping Tblsp cornstarch
1 c sugar
2 c boiling water

Bring water to boil. Add cornstarch and sugar. Cook and stir until thickened. Add butter and lemon juice. Adjust to taste. Serve over bread pudding.

This recipe is delicious without the sauce. When I was a visiting nurse Fannie was one of my patients. She had been a housekeeper/cook and she shared this recipe with me.
