¾ CUP SUGAR
4 CUPS HOT WATER

PUT SUGAR INTO PITCHER. ADD HOT WATER AND STIR UNTIL SUGAR IS DISSOLVED. COOL TO ROOM TEMPERATURE. ROLL LEMONS ON COUNTER TO SOFTEN. CUT IN HALF AND SQUEEZE JUICE WITH CITRUS JUICER. ADD JUICE AND LEMON RIND TO SUGAR/WATER SOLUTION. CHILL UNTIL READY TO SERVE.

2 LIMES CAN BE SUBSTITUTED FOR 2 LEMONS PLUS ¼ CUP ADDITIONAL SUGAR FOR LIMEADE.

I served this in my restaurant. People from miles around would come to Buffalo just to have my lemonade.

I like to heat my water and pour it into the sugar so it dissolves completely. Chill and add the citrus juice.
