Ingredients:
1 stick butter
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup oil
3 whole eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp almond extract or seeds (seeds preferred)
1 cup almonds slivered or walnuts soaked in 1 oz brandy or whiskey
3 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 T anise

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º

If using walnuts, soak overnight in whiskey. The softer the nuts, the less likely the biscotti will crumble when slicing later.

Cream butter and sugar, add oil and mix well. Add eggs and flavorings and mix well. Add nuts, flour and baking powder, mix well. Refrigerate overnight. Divide dough into 9 pars equally. On floured surface roll each part into sticks 14" long or the length of cookie sheet and the diameter of a broomstick. Remove from over, slice eac roll at 45 degree angle about 1/2" thick.

Bake 15-20 minutes
