1/2 cup (1 stick) oleo or butter
3/4 cups brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350, oven rack in center position

Cream butter until soft, beat in brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Stir flour mixture into creamed mixture, then stir in walnuts. Spread batter into prepared baking pan. Sprinkle chocolate pieces over top of dough and press down slightly with spatula.

Bake in center oven 25-30 minutes. Cool. Cut in squares when cool.

Wrap in foil or plastic wapr. Keeps well in refrigerator or longer in freezer.
