Apple Sausage Stuffing Recipe

2 bags herb stuffing mix
1 lb. sage sausage
2-3 apples, chopped (Gravenstein, Roman, Golden Delicious)
1 onion, chopped
1-2 ribs celery
tsp. salt
3 cups chicken broth
6 Tbs. butter
1 tsp. dried sage (or more to taste)
1 tsp. dried thyme
1 tsp. chopped garlic

Preheat oven at 325

1. Cook sausage in large skillet and transfer to plate with paper towels to drain.

2. In same pan, melt butter and saute onions, garlic, celery, and herbs until soft. Add apples and cook until slightly tender.

3. Pour stuffing mix in a large bowl. Add apple and herb mixture and sausage, mix well.

4. Add chicken broth in small batches until moist. Place stuffing into a greased casserole dish, baking for 30-40 minutes.
