2¼ Cup all purpose flour
1 Cup sugar
¾ Cup sweet cream butter, softened
¾ Cup applesauce
1 egg
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
½ tsp each salt and baking soda
1 Cup raisins
½ Cup chopped walnuts (opt)

FROSTING:
4 Cup confectioners' sugar
½ Cup sweet cream butter, softened
3 to 4 Tbsp. milk (I use half whipping cream)
½ tsp. maple flavoring

Preheat Oven to 375º
Grease cookie sheets. In 3 quart mixer bowl, combine all cookie ingredients except raisins and walnuts. Beat at low speed, scraping sides of bowl often, until well mixed (2 to 3 min). Stir in raisins and walnuts. Drop dough by teasponfuls 2" apart onto greased cookie sheets. Bake near center of 375º oven for 10 to 12 min. or until lightly browned. Cool completely; spread with frosting. Place 2 raisins in the center of each frosted cookie if desired.

FROSTING:
In 1½ qt. mixer bowl, combine all frosting ingredients. Beat at med. speed, scraping sides of bowl often, until light and fluffy (3 to 4 min).
