Peanut Butter Cookies Recipe

1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup peanut butter (creamy or crunch)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 beaten egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1. Sift together flour, soda and salt.
2. Blend together in another bowl the shortening and peanut butter
3. Add sugars to butter mixture. Cream until light and fluffy
4. Add 1 beaten egg and vanilla. Mix well
5. Stir in flour mixture.
6. Chill dough
7. Roll the dough into small balls and place on greased cookie sheet.
8. Press each ball cross-wise with a fork.
9. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes
