Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350º. Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans or one 13 X 9 X 2 pan. Set aside. In a large bowl mix sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Mix on low until dry ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Add eggs, buttermilk, coffee, oil, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for about two minutes. The batter will be thin.

Pour batter evenly into prepared pans. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes for round pans, 35 to 40 for rectangular pan.

Cool ten minutes, remove from pans to wire racks. Cool completely.

Frosting:
Add cocoa to bowl. Whisk through to remove lumps. Cream together butter and cocoa powder until well-combined. Add sugar and milk to cocoa mixture by adding 1 cup of sugar followed by about a tablespoon of milk. After each addition has been combined mix until mixture is incorporated. Continue until all sugar and milk have been added.

Add vanilla extract and espresso powder and combine well. If frosting appears to dry add more milk, a tablespoon at a time until it reaches the right consistency.
