2 c. sugar
½ c. solid Criscoİ
2 eggs
1 c. boiling water
1 c. sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour
½ tsp. baking powder
½ c. cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt

Filling
4 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla
3 tbsp. (heaping) Criscoİ

Directions:
Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 425ş.
Cream together sugar, Criscoİ, and eggs.
Stir in all together-boiling water, sour milk and vanilla.
Sift dry ingredients and add all at once.
Mix until just blended on low speed.
Drop by tbsp on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 5 minutes.

Filling *
Mix flour and mild together and cook until thick.
Cool to room temperature
Beat in sugar, vanilla & Criscoİ.
Beat at low speed. If it looks curdley add more Criscoİ (up to 3/4 c.)
To assemble, spread frosting between the bottoms of two cookies (sandwich style with flat sides of the cookie on the frosting). Wrap each gob in plastic wrap.

*This is the original recipe but I use Disneyland Frosting - it makes more, is super yummy and not too sweet. (recipe follows).

I was given this recipe at my bridal shower and it now hangs framed in our kitchen. I was told a road trip or beach vacation wouldn't be complete without these little gems. Bryan likes them so much he often takes a few and hides them to be sure he gets more than one.
