Apricot Criss Cross Recipe

1 C Crisco
3 C flour sifted
1 C Sugar
1/4 tsp salt
3 eggs
2 tsp baking powder
1 t Vanilla


2 cans apricot halves drained with juice reserved
3 T cornstarch
3/4 C sugar

1. Mix dough and spread 1/2 in a 9x13 pan
2. Drain apricots
3. Combine apricot juice, cornstarch and sugar and cook until thick.
4. Layer apricot halves and filling on top of pan
5. Roll out remaining dough in a rectangle. Cut into strips and crisscross over filling.
6. Bake at 350 until brown.
7. Sprinkle powder sugar on top.
