2 large green peppers
1 lb. ground beef
⅓ c. chopped onion
8 ounce can tomato sauce
⅓ c. long grain rice
1 T. worcestershire sauce
½ t. dried basil or dried oregano
½ c. shredded cheddar cheese
¼ t. salt
¼ t. pepper
¾ c. water

Halve peppers lengthwise, removing stem ends, seeds and membranes. Immerse peppers into boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes. Sprinkle insides with salt. Invert on paper towels to drain well.
In skillet cook meat and onion till meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain fat. Stir in tomato sauce, uncooked rice, worcestershire, basil, water, salt, and pepper. Bring to boiling, reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes or till rice is tender. Push meat mixture to the side. Add peppers, cut side up. Cover peppers with meat mixture and sprinkle with cheese. Replace lid and simmer another minute till cheese melts.
