1 whole skinless chicken cooked, deboned
2 T. shortening
1 onion chopped
1 can diced green chilies
1 small can Heredez Salsa
2 T. chili powder
1 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. ground oregano
1 pkg. corn tortillas

Directions:
Directions:
Place 2 T. shortening in large skillet, saute chopped onion, add deboned chicken, salt and pepper to taste. Add the rest of the ingredients except tortillas and cheese, cook on medium for 30 minutes. Place a small amount of liquid oil in skillet and heat. Dip the corn tortillas into oil to soften, set aside. Place a small amount of chicken mixture in a tortilla, roll and secure with a toothpick. After all tortillas are rolled, add more oil and heat for frying. Fry rolled tortillas until crispy. Place fried flautas onto a greased cookie sheet, cover with cheddar cheese and bake until the cheese is melted. Top with chopped green onions and salsa.
