1½ - 2 pounds round steak
¼ cup all-purpose flour
3 Tablespoons shortening/fat or oil
1½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon seasoned salt*
*( or use ½ teaspoon celery salt, and ¼ teaspoon each of garlic salt and onion salt)
1 onion, sliced
1 cup water

1. Dredge meat with flour and brown in hot fat over medium heat.
2. Sprinkle with seasonings.
3. Add onion slices and ½ cup water.
4. Cover and simmer until tender, usually about 1½ hours. Add second ½ cup water during
cooking.
