3 pounds corned beef brisket (These are usually seasoned or seasoning is included.)
6 carrots, quartered
6 potatoes, quartered
6 medium onions
2 turnips, quartered (optional)
1 head of cabbage, cut in wedges.

1. Place brisket in large pan and cover with water. (Check package directions.)
2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer (cook slowly) for approximately 3 hours.
3. Add carrots, potatoes, onions and turnips. Cook an additional 15 minutes or until vegetables
are tender.
4. Add cabbage and cook for another 10 minutes.
5. Remove brisket and allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before cutting into slices.
6. Place vegetables in bowls or surround slices on platter.
