2 sticks margarine
1 cup sugar
dash salt
1 egg yolk beaten
2 cups plain flour
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Have margarine at room temperature. Cream sugar and margarine, add other ingredients and mix well (except pecans) Lightly grease cookie sheet. Spread on a cookie sheet with 1/2" sides. Pour out and pat with hand all over cookie sheet. (will be messy).

Pour unbeaten egg white over cookie dough and then spread it good. Pour off excess egg white. Sprinkle with pecans, slightly press in dough. Bake 40 minutes at 300º. Pre-heat oven, cut in squares while hot and take off cookie sheet.

(30 minutes is long enough to cook in my oven)
