1 T cornstarch
6 T sugar
1/2 cup cold water
Dash salt
3 egg whites

Directions:
Directions:
Mixt first 4 ingredients. Cook until thick and clear. Cool slightly. Beat egg whites until frothy. Continue beating while pouring cooked mixture over egg whites. Then beat on high speed w/mixer for 5 minutes. Cover the cool filling with meringue, sealing edges over edge of crust.

Bake in preheated 450º oven for 5-6 minutes, until golden.
Do not overtake or meringue becomes "tough".

Can also be used on chocolate, butterscotch, coconut or banana cream pie.
