6 eggs, beaten
1 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 plus 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
4 cups whole milk
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 9-inch deep dish, unbaked pie shell

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º Beat eggs, then beat in sugar, salt & nutmeg. Add lukewarm milk. Beat well, add vanilla. Pour into pastry lined pan. Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350º, then 15 minutes at 325º until knife comes out clean.

This is from mom's Anniversary Slovak-American cookbook. It's been adjusted to fill a deep dish pie so you may have to bake it a little longer than the recipe calls for. Cover crust to keep from getting too brown.
