Seasoning:
2 T. vegetable oil (I prefer olive)
1 tsp. poppyeeds
1 tsp. cumin seeds
1T. Channa Dal
1 T. Urad Dal
4-5 each red chilies
2 green chilies
½ tsp. turmeric
1T. peanuts, chopped
1 lemon, juiced
salt to taste

1 c. cooked rice

Directions:
Directions:
The cooked rice should not be "sticky" for this recipe, and should be cooled.

Heat oil over medium flame. Reduce flame to low and saute the next six ingredients until the Dal is golden brown. Add turmeric and turn off the flame to cool. Once seasoning has cooled cooled add lemon juice and salt to your preference (I use one twist of a salt grinder).

Combine seasoning with rice until the mixture is evenly yellow.
