9 inch Pie shell, cooked and cooled

c. almonds, slivered and toasted lightly
2 cups strawberries, halved

Cream Filling:
c. strawberries(mashed)
c. boiling water
2 tsp. cornstarch
red food coloring


Directions:
Directions:
Cover bottom of cooled pastry shell with almonds.
Evenly distribute "Pile in" 2c. of halved strawberries over the almonds.


Cream Filling: In a small saucepan combine c. strawberries(mashed) into c. boiling water and cook for 2 minutes; sieve. In a separate small saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch and gradually add the sieved berry juice. Cook and stir until thick and clear. (add red food coloring to your desired tint) Cool slightly, and pour over the strawberries.

Refrigerate until ready to serve.
