3 T. bacon fat or meat drippings 2 T. corn starch 1-1/2 c. water 1/8 tsp. pepper 3/4 tsp. salt
In a sauce pan, blend fat or meat drippings with cornstarch, over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture is a rich brown color. Gradually add water, salt and pepper; increase heat to medium/medium-high; boiling gently 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
