Marilyn Barton

1 baked 8 inch round cake
1 baked 9 or 10 inch round cake
4 baked cupcakes
1 1/2 cups white frosting
2 cups dark chocolate frosting
1 mint patty (ears)
Hershey's Mini Kisses (claws)
1 Junior Mint (nose)
fruit leather (tongue)
black shoestring licorice (mouth)
2 sour rings and 2 skittles (eyes)
white sprinkles

Use the 8 inch cake for the panda's head. Trim the edge of the larger cake to create a scooped neckline and fit it snugly against the head.
Cut 2 cupcakes in half; use 2 halves for ears and 2 for front paws. Use the remaining 2 cupcakes for rear paws.
Spread on the frosting, creating light and dark patches of fur. Cut the mint patty in half and place one half in the middle of each ear. Add Mini Kisses for claws, a Junior Mint for nose, a fruit leather tongue, a shoestring licorice mouth, and 2 sour rings and Skittles eyes.
Note: If you don't have or can't find all the candies for decoration, improvise. You can also use coconut flakes for the fur.

Used this pattern to make Teddy Bear cakes for birthdays.
