In a large bowl, sift together:
2 Cups flour
1/2 cup cocoa
4 t baking powder
1 t salt

Stir in:
2 cups sugar
1 cup milk
1/3 cup oil
2 t vanilla

Directions:
preheat oven to 350º Mix well. Spread into large, greased cake pan. Set aside. In a separate bowl combine 2 cups brown sugar and 2/3 cup cocoa. Sprinkle topping over cake. Pour 3 cups of hot water over all. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Finished cake will be gooey! Let set for 1- minutes before serving.

Variations: Cut the amount of cocoa in half in both the cake and the topping, and also reduce the amount of sugar.

Tips: This is definitely a "company dessert," very rich and sweet. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped topping.

This is very rich - and a quick company dessert. My kids said it was the only thing I fed company for dessert (because it was quick and easy). I also used cream over it rather than whipped topping. Its still good.
