1 8-oz pkg cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 16-oz pkg confectioner's sugar
14 maraschino cherries
1-1/2 cups pecan chips
1 8-1/4 oz can crushed pineapple, drained
2 9-inch prepared chocolate cake layers
1/2 cup pecan halves for garnish (optional)

In medium bowl, with electric mixer at medium speed, beat cream cheese and heavy cream until smooth and creamy.

Reserve 3 cherries, chop remaining cherries. In small bowl, combine 3/4 cup prepared frosting, 1/4 cup pecans, pineapple and chopped cherries. Place 1 cake layer on plate, spread with cherry filling. Top with remaining layer. Frost cake with remaining frosting. Pat remaining pecans on side of cake, garnish with reserved cherries and pecan halves, if desired.
