Apple Dumplings Recipe

2 Tbsp. butter
1/4 c. shortening
4 Tbsp. milk
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
6-8 apples, peeled and cored
Cinnamon
Sugar

Caramel Sauce:
2 c. brown sugar
2 c. water
1 stick butter

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and shortening. Add milk, flour, salt and powder; blend well. Roll out 6-8 rounds. Place apples in center, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Pinch pastry around apple. Place in greased baking dish. Prepare caramel sauce. Mix ingredients together and bring to a boil. Pour over dumplings. Bake 350º-400º for 30 minutes or until browned. Baste occasionally.
