2 c. dried black beans ,rinsed
1 bay leaf
3 green peppers chopped
2 medium onions chopped
1/2 c. olive oil
6 tsp minced garlic
15 oz can of crushed tomatoes
1/2 c. chicken stock
2 TBS sugar
3/4 tsp salt

Directions:
Soak beans in 6 c. Water over night or as directed on package. Drain. Place beans in large sauce pot and 6 c. New water and bay leaf , bring to a boil, reduce heat and cover. Simmer for 1 1/2. -2 hours until tender
In a large skillet, sauté peppers,onion and garlic. Stir in tomato purée,chicken stock sugar and salt . Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 10 min until thickened .drain beans and add to tomato mixture
