Ingredients:  
1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
2 cups applesauce
3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
tsp cinnamon
tsp ginger
tsp cloves
2 cups nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, salt, soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves. Mix shortening, sugar, applesauce. Mix wet and dry mixtures together; add nuts. Drop by spoonful on cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400.
