1 c. butter, softened
1 c. white sugar
1 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. hot water
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. dark chocolate chips

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and hot water.
4. Separately, sift the flour, salt, and baking soda and slowly add to the batter. (Hand stirring works best, but a slow setting with a bread hook will work.)
5. Stir in chocolate chips.
6. Bake for about 10 min. or until edges are nicely browned.
