Mom's Pound Cake Recipe

2 sticks butter
1/2 c. Crisco
5 eggs
3 c. sugar
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sweet milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon

Cream together butter and Crisco; add eggs, one at a time, and beat well after each.
Sift together dry ingredients and mix alternately with milk. Add flavorings, and mix well.
Bake 1 1/2 hours at 325. Do not preheat oven.

This cake is also quite good flavored with vanilla butter & nut flavoring.
