5 cups all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
1 lb shortening (solid - not butter flavored)
1 tablespoon white vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
1. Blend flour, salt, soda and shortening with pastry blender
2. Add into measuring cup one egg --- fill cup with COLD WATER and beat with fork
3. Add vinegar and stir
4. Add liquid to dry ingredients until thoroughly mixed
5. Use additional flour as needed

Makes 4-5 pie shells. You can make them in disposable pie tins (deep dish 9 inch) and freeze raw shells for later use
