*1.5lbs (2lbs)
2 TB (3 TB) sugar
1 1/2 tsp (2 tsp) salt
2 (3) eggs, beaten
1/2 c (2/3 c) softened butter
1/3 c (1/2 c) buttermilk, warmed to 86-95°F
3 TB (1/4 c) warm water
3 c / 360g (4 c / 480g) bread or all-purpose flour
1 tsp (1 1/2 tsp) instant or bread machine yeast

Directions:
In bread pan, layer ingredients in order. Spoon flour on top; add yeast. Start on dough only setting. (This bread puffs up hugely in the machine, and the texture is better if you oven-bake it.) Shape and bake in the oven at 350º for 35-40 minutes.
