3 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. corn syrup
3/4 c. water
1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
2 egg whites
1 - 3 oz. packaged flavored jello
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. coconut
Directions:
Directions:
Butter sides of a 2 quart saucepan.
In sauce pan, add sugar, corn syrup, water and salt; mix well.
Cook stirring constantly until sugar dissolves and mixture comes to a boil.
Cook to "hard ball" stage (250º) without stirring. Remove from heat.
Beat egg white until soft peaks form.
Gradually beat in jello until soft peaks form.
Slowly pour hot syrup over egg whites; beating continually on high speed until soft peaks form.
Add vanilla; mix well.
Stir in nuts and coconut.
Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper.
Allow to setup and cool.
