2 c. sifted flour
½ tsp. salt
1⅓ c. sugar
⅔ c. milk
½ c. Crisco©
3 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
½ c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Measure into mixing bowl: flour, salt, sugar, ⅔ c. milk, and Crisco©.
Blend by hand or mixer for two minutes.
Stir in baking powder.
Add eggs, ½ c. milk and vanilla. Blend for 2 minutes.
Add coconut.
Pour into 2 greased and floured 9" cake pans or a 9"X12"X2½" pan.
Bake in 375º oven 25-30 minutes or until done (check with toothpick).
Ice with 7 minute frosting.
Sprinkle with coconut.

A note from Grandma: This cake is good without coconut, with lemon pudding spread over the top - or cherry sauce.
