2 c. sugar
¾ c. Crisco©
2 eggs
2½ c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
½ c. cocoa
1 c. sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
¼ tsp. salt
1 c. boiling water

Directions:
Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 350º. Grease and flour 9"X13"X2" pan or 8"X8" layer pans.
Cream sugar and shortening.
Add eggs and mix well.
Sift together flour and cocoa together. Add to mixture alternately with sour milk.
Mix carefully.
Add salt and vanilla.
Dissolve soda in boiling water, stir into mixture.
Bake in 350º oven about 50 minutes for 9"X13" pan or about 35 minutes for 8X8 layer pans
