2½ C flour
½ tsp baking powder
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 C margarine or oleo
1½ C sugar
¼ tsp peppermint extract
5 drops green food color
5 drops red food color
1 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
¼ C chopped pistachios or almonds

Directions:

1. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside

2. Beat butter in a large bowl. Add 1½ C sugar and beat until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Combine

3. Divide batter into thirds
To first ball add red food color and peppermint
To second ball add green food color and nuts
To third ball add chocolate

4. Make 2 snakes with each color (about 10 inches long)

5. Place one "snake" of each color on waxed paper or plastic wrap and roll the tri-colored into a triangle (sortof)

6. Refrigerate 2-48 hours

7. Slice into ¼ inche slices. Sprinkle with sugar.

8. Bake at 350º for 10-12 minutes
