1 cake yeast (1/2 oz) or 2 pkg 1/4 oz dry yeast
About 8 cups All Purpose Flour (or use self-rising and omit salt)
1/4 cup lukewarm water
5/8 cup shortening
2 tsp salt
2 cups scalded milk
1/2 cup sugar

Directions:
Soften yeast in warm water. Add shortening and sugar to hot milk. Cool and combine with yeast and water. Stir in flour and salt until dough is stiff enough to turn out on board. Knead dough until smooth. (first rising) Set in greased bowl to rise until dough is double its size. Knead or punch down, Put in bowl until double its size again. After second rising, cut off as much as needed, shape as deisred. Let rise until double. Bake at 400º for 15 to 20 minutes.

Cook on bottom rack. Grease remaining dough - place in refrigerator.
