Directions:
Preheat oven to 425°F. Combine flour and salt in food processor with blades. Cut butter and shortening in pieces into flour. Pulse on and off till mixture looks like coarse meal. Add water a few tablespoons at a time, until dough just holds together. Form into 2 flat disks, wrap in wax paper and refrigerate at least 30 minutes. Roll on lightly flour surface, to 1/8-1/4” thick. Cut shapes. Cut smaller shape in center of half of shapes to make tops so filling is visible. Place Bottoms on ungreased cookie sheet. Place 1-2 Tbs. filling to within 1/4" of edges. Brush edges with water. Cover with top crust. Press together with fork along edges. Brush tops with egg mixture. Bake on center rack at 425 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until browned. Remove to rack to cool.

*If you can't find pastry filling, there is a recipe for blueberry pastry filling. Pie filling is NOT as thick as pastry filling.
