1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup mashed ripe bananas (3)
2 eggs
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla. Add bananas and eggs; mix well. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder and soda. Add alternately to batter with sour milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Fold in nuts. Bake in a greased and floured 9 x 9-inch pan at 350 for 40 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool on wire rack.
