1 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 cups flour
2 T. cinnamon
2 cups diced apples

Topping: 1/2 cup ground nuts
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Sift dry ingredients together. Mix in order given. Pour into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Sprinkle with topping. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes.
