Ingredients:
Slice 1 pound of King Oyster mushrooms length wise into steaks
Drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper and 2 cloves of chopped garlic. Let sit at room temperature to marinate for a couple of hours.

Heat sauté grill pan with raised grills to hot, add mushrooms and cook turning as needed until browned and golden. You may need to add more olive oil. They will probably take 7-10 minutes to cook. You should let them get griddle marks on each side before turning. Serve with a sprinkle of fresh pepper and chopped parsley. I also cook mine with chopped hot peppers like habanero, but do this only if you like hot.

Together the soup and mushroom side dish with salad is a nice hearty and sophisticated meal…no meat and no dairy.
